Goldryn prop swords
For my dissertation I explored the question ‘How do prop makers interpret literary descriptions across screen and cosplay?’
Alongside the essay I created two versions of my chosen sword ‘Goldryn’ making one from a hero prop perspective and one from a cosplay perspective.

Canopic Chest
I created a canopic chest complete with a set of 4 jars. All weathered down to look old.
The box is plywood, textured inside with artext and stained using a mixture of acrylic paints, sponges and sand.
The jars are kingspan carved and sanded, coated in artex with the details crafted from Milliput.

Giant Walking Boot
Taking a Scarpa walking boot I scaled it up by 3 and sculpted it out of recycled polystyrene. Coating it in a mixture of Jesmonite, fabric and plastizote, using repurposed climbing rope for the laces.
The boot is on tour around the Joe Browns shops and The Climbers shop starting in Llanberis, Capel Curig and ends in Ambelside in the summer of 2026. Read more about it here.

Gargoyle - Laverne
For this project I chose Laverne from Disneys ‘Hunchback of Notre Dame’ (1996) I sculpted her out of clay, made a silicone mould that I was used to create a fibreglass statue which I textured, painted and sealed with a clear resin.

Bluey Canvas
This project involved selecting an image then using the gridding system scaling it up x4 onto a canvas. Focusing on matching the colours to the orginal image.
